The Golden Achievement Program (GAP) is intended to be high recognition of the efforts of a chapter and its members to advancing the practice, science and community of beekeeping through the year. Sharing the accomplishments of our chapters is the key to strengthening our NCSBA organization.
Each year the NCSBA GAP recognizes NCSBA chapters that have made significant accomplishments in support of North Carolina beekeeping over the past year. Points are given for various chapter’s activities and accomplishments. Chapters should submit their accomplishments from the past year to the GAP Committee for review by the Spring Conference of each year. A copy of the application is available below.
The Chapter of the Year is awarded prizes consisting of a banner and framed certificate, gift certificates from our sponsors for bee equipment and $700 Cost Share grant money for an approved project. Any chapter who enters and meets easy-to-reach thresholds of achievements will be given a one-time award of $300. Once you receive GAP Chapter of the Year, you are ineligible for 3 years.
We are always looking for more chapters to be involved. Regional directors and Master Beekeepers, help us to find these chapters.
