Fitting annual apiary duties with the rest of your life can be tricky. NC State Apiary Inspector Nancy Ruppert has given us a helpful list of what can be expected throughout the year for beekeepers in the Piedmont. Those outside of central North Carolina will need to adjust for local conditions.

Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon
4 Saturday's and 1 field day
This course will cover Introduction to Beekeeping, Honey Bee Biology, Honey Bee pests and diseases, products of the hive, Equipment, Seasonal Management, Keeping bees in populated areas, Races of Honey Bees, as well as many helpful hints to assist you in getting started as a beekeeper. Written Certified Test will be administered on the final day and a Practical Exam will be administered at our annual Pig Pickin' later in the summer.
$65 per person, includes membership for OCBA and NCSBA and book
