Beekeeping throughout the year is a variable process.  

Piedmont North Carolina Beekeeping Calendar

Fitting annual apiary duties with the rest of your life can be tricky.  NC State Apiary Inspector Nancy Ruppert has given us a helpful list of what can be expected throughout the year for beekeepers in the Piedmont. Those outside of central North Carolina will need to adjust for local conditions.

Orange County NC Beginning Beekeeping Class

January 17-March 21, 2023. Tuesday nights 7-9 pm.
10 weeks plus equipment workshop and field day
$75 individual / $125 Family Rate

Orange County Agricultural Center, also via Zoom

This 10-week course focuses on beekeeping using generally accepted beekeeping practices for traditional Langstroth-style beehives. Knowledgeable, highly-experienced instructors cover the biology of beekeeping, essential beekeeping skills, monitoring and treatment of pests and diseases, seasonal hive management and other relevant topics. At the end of the course, you will be prepared to begin beekeeping.
