Born and Bred Queen Rearing Program

Frame growing queens

The Born and Bred program promotes the production of North Carolina raised queens by local beekeepers, for local beekeepers.  The goal of the program is to educate NCSBA beekeepers on rearing high quality, locally adapted queens, through an intentional (grafting) queen rearing program.  The process taught through this program can be applied for a beekeeper raising 5 queens a month to one raising 50 queens a week.

For more information, check out the articles in the Summer 2018 and Spring 2018 editions of the Bee Buzz.
