Apiary Tasks by Month
Beekeeping throughout the year is a variable process. Fitting annual apiary duties with the rest of your life can be tricky. NC State Apiary Inspector Nancy Ruppert has given us a helpful list of what can be expected throughout the year for beekeepers in the Piedmont. Those outside of central North Carolina will need to adjust for local conditions. We hope you find the Piedmont North Carolina Beekeeping Calendar useful.

We will spend 3 day in the classroom 3 hours a day. We will then go to the bee yard. Day one in the bee yard we will try to have no more than three students per hive. There will be a certified beekeeper going over every aspect to the hive and the bees. We have had great results and great reviews doing it this way. The second day in the bee yard students will go into the hive with the guidance of the certified beekeeper. You will notice the progress the bees have made in that week.
