The North Carolina State Beekeepers Association (NCSBA) respects the privacy of all its members. The NCSBA implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information.
The NCSBA collects information from and maintains information about you when you become a member of the NCSBA. This information includes your name, postal address, phone numbers, email addresses, primary local affiliate chapter, and other personal information. This information is used solely by the NCSBA and is not shared, traded, or sold to third parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating the website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep your personal information confidential. The NCSBA may also release your information when it believes release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce NCSBA policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
As an NCSBA member, by default, you may receive any of the following three types of electronic (or email) communication from the NCSBA: 1) information and updates pertaining directly to the NCSBA (meetings, news, surveys, and other information), 2) information regarding educational opportunities pertinent to beekeeping that are hosted by organizations other than the NCSBA, and/or 3) the electronic version of the Buzz (eBuzz). You may opt not to receive each of these types of communication (1, 2, and/or 3) individually. If you opt not to receive the eBuzz (3), you will receive the Buzz by US Mail. By default, you will not receive 4) solicitations from companies promoting their beekeeping products that are available for purchase, unless you opt to receive solicitations. The NCSBA will not share your personal information with outside educational organizations (2) or solicitors (4); all such communication will come directly from the NCSBA.
For any of the above types of electronic communications (1 – 4), your email address may be used by an NCSBA Officer (President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Secretary, and/or Education and Research Coordinator) and/or an NCSBA Webmaster. A two-thirds approval from the President, 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President will be obtained by the sending officer prior to mailing electronic communications of types 1) or 2) to you. Type 3) or the eBuzz does not require approval.
Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving emails regarding any of these types of communications, you may do so by contacting Membership Coordinator Laurie Shaw at 919-585-6052 or email@example.com. The NCSBA will also include unsubscribe instructions on all emails it sends to you.
The NCSBA may publish your name, phone numbers(s), and primary local affiliate chapter in printed form (the Yellow Book) unless you opt to have your information deleted from this publication. Your email address will not be printed (in the Yellow Book) or published on the NCSBA website unless you are an Officer or Appointee of the NCSBA or an Officer of one of its Local Affiliate Chapters.
The NCSBA may share your personal information with your appropriate Local Affiliate NCSBA Chapter Officers. Otherwise, your email address will not be shared with other NCSBA members.
The NCSBA website may contain links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website, for which the NCSBA is not responsible.
By becoming a member of the NCSBA, you signify your agreement to our privacy and communication policy as stated above.
Note that this policy may be revised periodically; its current form is available on the NCSBA website. Please re-read this policy prior to submitting any personal information if you have concerns about how your information is being collected and used.
