Burke County Beekeepers - Beginning Beekeeping Class – 2/01/2022 - 2/22/2022 4 consecutive Tuesday nights - 2 hours each . Field Day TBD 2/1- in person at the Extension Office Morganton 6-7:30pm then last 3 Tuesdays virtually from 6-8pm $50 per person- includes 1 yr local & State membership, books and materials This years beginners class will be using the book: First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith Delaplane, A Field Guide to Honeybees and Their Maladies by the Penn State Extension along with other printed materials. This class will be held on 4 consecutive Tuesdays in Feb with the first class being in person at the Burke County Extension Office at 130 Ammons Drive Morganton from 6-7:30pm then virtually after that via Zoom from 6-8pm. Beekeepers of Wilkes County - Beginning Beekeeping Course All day 3/05/2022 - 4/09/2022 3 classroom sessions and a day in the beeyard Wilkes County Agricultural Center $50 per student , 18 & under $25 Course will be on Saturdays starting at 9 am and ending at 1:00 pm. Breaks with snacks provided. Course manual included. 1 year membership to Beekeepers of Wilkes and NCSBA also included in the tuition. Contact: Yadkin County Beginning Beekeeping Class – March 5 - April 2, 2022 Union Cross Friends Meeting (building in back of the church) $35.00 includes book We will spend 3 day in the classroom 3 hours a day. We will then go to the bee yard. Day one in the bee yard we will try to have no more than three students per hive. There will be a certified beekeeper going over every aspect to the hive and the bees. We have had great results and great reviews doing it this way.
